Who works with a personal trainer? Is it only for athletes or people who are overweight?
No. A personal trainer works with anyone who has a health, fitness or performance goal and wants to make the most out of their workout time. This can include housewives, university students, weekend warrior athletes, new moms, elderly or professionals.  Goals can range from body composition improvement, either weight loss or mass gain, safe pre and post natal training, movement and postural correction or athletic development, or simply fitness maintenance. Young or old, fit or untrained, male or female; everyone can get their desired results with our trainers

Why should I work with a Premier personal trainer?
By working with the expert trainers employed by Premier Personal Training, you are guaranteed to reach your goals as effectively and efficiently as possible. This is achieved through Premier’s specialized training systems designed to ensure your workout is 100% specific to your needs and goals, allowing you to invest minimal time with maximum results.

Are Premier’s personal trainers are all certified and have liability insurance?
Yes, every trainer must be certified through a provincial or national organization (Can-Fit Pro, BCRPA) and are required to renew their CPR and First Aid training yearly. For more details on additional certifications and qualifications of our trainers, please see the individual trainer profiles under About Us. Yes, each of the trainers carries insurance plus we have an additional policy covering our staff.

Do you have a payment plan? How do I pay?
Yes, our personal training clients are billed at the end of the month for sessions trained during the month. Payment is expected within 10 days of your invoice date, by Cash, Cheques, Interact Money Transfer

What are your policies and procedures around your services, costs, cancellations, etc?
We require 24 hours notice to cancel sessions at no charge. Sessions not cancelled or re-scheduled 24 hours in advance will be charged at the full rate. We strongly encourage clients to try to stick to their training schedule as much as possible as it is critical for your success.

I’m not in good shape – should I be working out prior to my complimentary session?
No, you don’t need to be in good shape to begin working toward your goals. The consultation and assessment is designed to assess your individual fitness level, detect postural imbalances and starting strength to create the most effective training program possible.

I am a female and am not interested in bulking up; will I still have to lift weights?
Yes. However, because your program will be specifically tailored to your goals and needs, the strength training will not cause you to bulk up but to loose body fat, tone up and improve metabolism.

I am planning on becoming pregnant, am pregnant or have recently given birth. Is it safe for me to begin working with a trainer?
Yes. Premier Personal Trainers are certified Pre-Natal Training Specialists who will be able to tailor you an effective, safe and beneficial training program. Safe and effective exercise during pregnancy will help with lower back pain, the birthing process and expedite the post-partum weight loss.

What and when should I eat before my session?
Eat a light meal about two hours before you work out.  You don’t need to avoid protein and fat, however don’t overdo either of these nutrients. If you end up eating a large protein, fibre and fat-filled meal, wait about four hours before exercising. If you feel hungry right before your workout, pick a small snack like piece of fruit or some fruit juice. Hydration is important for your health and exercise will cause a depletion of water when you sweat. Drink a glass of water an hour or so before your workout and again after your workout. You can also sip water throughout your session
